Stories begin somewhere

Every community carries a story.

Places are shaped by the people who remember what came before and those imagining what comes next. The Paper Fleet brings generations together to preserve local memory, surface overlooked perspectives, and create stories that help communities understand themselves and what they might change together.

How stories become action.

Listen

Begin with the people who know the place.

Create

Carry their perspectives through ethical storytelling.

Mobilize

Turn attention into locally guided support.

Stories take root: Brazil.

We’re beginning in Brazil with two place-based initiatives, one in rural Paraná and one in the Amazon. Each is rooted in listening, local guidance, and the belief that stories can help protect what matters most.

PLANNED COMMUNITY GREENING PILOT.

Greener ground: Paraná.

Beginning December 2026, The Paper Fleet will listen to local residents in a rural community in Paraná, document local perspectives, and support locally guided planting and environmental care. This work will grow from the knowledge, priorities, and leadership of the people who call this place home.

PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT UNDERWAY

Forest voices: Amazonia.

The Paper Fleet is building relationships with Indigenous-led partners working to protect the Amazon rainforest from deforestation. Through ethical storytelling and future fundraising, we aim to amplify their work and support the priorities they set. We are in an ongoing process of listening and learning, so that everything we do is respectful, collaborative, and guided by the people who know the forest best.
